Prayers for Israel—Week of August 9, 2026
Sunday, August 9, 2026 · Sha'arei Shalom
"Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: may they prosper who love you" (Psalm 122:6). Each week we set aside these prayer points so our whole congregation—and anyone who joins us here—can intercede for Israel together, one heart at a time and all week long.
This week's prayer points
- Peace for the land—pray for quiet on every border, for protection over every community, and for God's shalom to be more than the absence of conflict.
- Comfort for those who grieve—remember families carrying loss; ask the God of all comfort to be near to the brokenhearted (Psalm 34:18).
- Wisdom for leaders—pray for sound judgment and moral courage for all who carry responsibility for decisions that touch many lives.
- The believing communities in the land—pray for Messianic congregations throughout Israel: boldness, unity, provision, and favor with their neighbors.
- Ourselves—that our prayers this week would be persistent, not occasional; ask God to keep Israel on our hearts past Shabbat.
We pray these aloud together during our Shabbat service, but they are written for the whole week. Take one point per day, and return to Psalm 122 as you do.
To pray with others in person, see Beit Tefillah, or send a request through our prayer request page.
