Learn/Hebrew Classes
Hebrew Classes
Our four-semester, prayer book-based Hebrew program begins with the aleph-bet and takes learners to the intermediate level. Classes serve children ages 10 and up, as well as adults.
The Program
From aleph-bet to intermediate
The curriculum exposes students to biblical, prayer-book, and modern Hebrew—so the language of the Torah scroll, the siddur, and the living Jewish world all open up together.
Hebrew Blast-Off
Two afternoons of intensive introduction to the aleph-bet, held twice yearly in fall and spring—the on-ramp to the full program.
Hebrew I & II
Roughly 12-week classes meeting once weekly for 90 minutes, building from letters and vowels to reading fluency in the siddur (prayer book).
Hebrew III & IV
Continuing 12-week classes that carry learners to the intermediate level, deepening vocabulary, grammar, and comprehension.
