Children

Children are a full part of Shabbat at Sha'arei Shalom. From the nursery through Jr. Shabbat, our youngest members learn Torah, Hebrew, and prayer in age-appropriate ways—right alongside the life of the congregation.

Nursery
We have a nursery for ages 0–3, available during Shabbat services and other select congregational events, so parents can worship knowing their little ones are cared for. Open from 9:45 AM.
Ages 4–10
Jr. Shabbat
During the main service, children join Parsha Partners—a discussion of the week's parashah—then move to age-appropriate classes following the Torah section.
Activities include Hebrew instruction, Bible stories, prayer, discussion, and crafts—building a love of Torah and Jewish life from the very beginning.
Ages 10–18
Older kids and teens
Our youth program, Dorot, carries young people from Jr. Shabbat through B'nai Mitzvah and Confirmation.
