Shabbat Table Talk
A Young Adult Erev Shabbat dinner and Mussar study, every third Friday
Our midweek book study, “Text, Chat, & B’rachot,” has a new home: the Erev Shabbat table!
*This gathering is for young adults only.*
Every three weeks, the Young Adults will gather on Friday evening to welcome Shabbat with candle lighting (when applicable), kiddush, challah, and dinner. After the meal, we’ll enjoy dessert and explore Mussar together.
What is Mussar? It’s a Jewish practice that helps us reflect on how we live and who we want to become. We’ll discuss middot, or character traits, such as patience, humility, gratitude, and generosity. Each Erev Shabbat gathering will focus on one middah and offer ideas to reflect on during the week ahead. So no need to know things ahead of time; bring your Bible, as we will be studying from the book of Samuel.
Come whenever you can. Each meeting stands on its own, so you don’t need to have attended an earlier session. If you miss one, you’re always welcome at the next.
First gathering: Friday, October 16, at 6:30 PM
Sign-up deadline: Wednesday, October 14, at midnight
Please register separately for each event. Registering for one night will not automatically sign you up for future dates. This helps us ensure we have enough food and seating for everyone.
Location: The meeting place may change from one gathering to the next. We’ll email you the location and other details after you register, so please check your inbox before each event.
The meal: We’ll provide dinner, but we won’t serve alcohol. Feel free to bring dessert, snacks, or drinks to share. Everything is free, and meals will be in a Kosher style. If you have any food restrictions or allergies, please let Daniel know when you sign up.
Stay in touch: We use our WhatsApp group for announcements, reminders, and any notices. If you’re not already in the group, message Daniel and they’ll add you.
