A Remembrance for the Fallen (Yom HaZikaron)
Avinu Sheb’shamayim — Our Father in Heaven,
We come before You today with our eyes fixed on the mountains of Israel. You gathered Your people from the four corners of the earth, and You have promised: "I will plant Israel in their own land, never again to be uprooted from the land I have given them" (Amos 9:15). We stand on that decree today.
A Remembrance for the Fallen (Yom HaZikaron)
On this Yom HaZikaron, as the siren sounds across the Land, we stand in solemn silence to honor the chayalim and the citizens who gave their lives for the survival of the State. Lord, we remember the sacrifice of those who stood in the gap so that Israel might live.
We ask that You comfort the bereaved families with the Shalom that surpasses all understanding. May they find hope in the promise that death is not the end for those who trust in You. We pray that the memory of the fallen would serve as a reminder of the preciousness of life and the necessity of Your divine protection.
For the Soldiers and the Prince of Peace
Lord, we lift the sons and daughters of the IDF who currently stand watch from the heights of Hermon to the sands of the Negev. Be their Magen (Shield) and their High Tower. Grant the commanders the "Spirit of Counsel and Might" (Isaiah 11:2) to navigate the complexities of this 10-day ceasefire and the threats from the east.
We look to Yeshua, the Sar Shalom (Prince of Peace), who commanded us to be peacemakers. We pray for the protection of every soldier, that they would not only be physically shielded but would come to know the Captain of the Host of the Lord.
For the Captives and the Displaced
We cry out for the remaining captives still held in the shadows—Lord, "proclaim liberty to the captives and the opening of the prison to those who are bound" (Isaiah 61:1). Bring the displaced families of the Galilee and the south back to their own borders (Jeremiah 31:17), and let their homes be rebuilt in safety and joy.
For Leadership and the Nations
Grant the leaders in Jerusalem and the negotiators in Washington the wisdom of Solomon and the heart of David. As they engage in historic direct talks and navigate fragile ceasefires, let them not trust in chariots or horses, but in the Name of Adonai Eloheinu (Psalm 20:7). May the spirit of discernment rest upon them, guiding them toward a security that is established in truth.
For the Spiritual Restoration of Israel
Lord, we pray for the ultimate restoration of Your people. We ask for the fulfillment of Your Word: that You would pour out the Ruach HaKodesh—the Spirit of grace and supplication—upon the House of David and the inhabitants of Jerusalem (Zechariah 12:10).
We pray that the veil would be lifted and that all Israel would recognize Yeshua as the Promised One, the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world. May the light of Zion shine so clearly through His followers that the nations say, "Come, let us go up to the mountain of the Lord" (Isaiah 2:3).
"The Lord bless you from Zion; may you see the prosperity of Jerusalem all the days of your life" (Psalm 128:5).
Baruch Atah Adonai, Oseh Shalom bi-m’romav, Hu ya’aseh shalom aleinu v’al kol Yisrael.
B’shem Yeshua HaMashiach, Amen.
